Connect Broom to HMRC
Authorise Broom so Pro can retrieve obligations and submit MTD figures.
Before connecting
You need a Broom Pro subscription, the correct National Insurance number in Business settings and an HMRC online account that is enrolled for the relevant Making Tax Digital service.
Connect securely
- Open More, then Account.
- Find the HMRC connection section and choose Connect to HMRC.
- Continue to HMRC and sign in on HMRC’s own page.
- Review the permission request and authorise Broom.
- Return to Broom and confirm that the connection is shown as active.
Broom never receives your HMRC password
You sign in directly with HMRC. HMRC returns an authorisation token that allows Broom to perform the actions you approve.
If the connection expires
Return to Account and reconnect. Your records in Broom are not deleted when an HMRC authorisation expires.
