Record business mileage
Log journeys as you go and keep the tax-year deduction up to date.
Add a journey
- Open Expenses and choose Mileage.
- Choose Add trip.
- Enter the date, journey description and business miles.
- Save Trip.
What counts
Record journeys made wholly for business purposes, such as travelling between clients or collecting supplies. Ordinary commuting rules can be different, so ask a tax adviser if you are unsure about a journey.
How Broom calculates it
Broom groups mileage by UK tax year and applies the relevant HMRC-approved rate and thresholds for that year. The running deduction appears in Expenses and Tax.
